Leadership Team
Alex Stavros
President and Chairman
Alex Stavros’ childhood shaped his professional and personal aspirations. As the son of missionaries, Alex grew up in Lima, Peru and spent his weekends working with the youth of Lima’s slums. Prior to joining CALO, Alex lived in California and was the Managing Partner of a small private equity fund, Lia Capital Partners, which he founded, focused on making acquisitions of mission-driven businesses. Before that, Alex lived in Boston and was the Associate Director of Firm Wide Operations – working directly for the President and COO - at Cambridge Associates, the world’s largest global investment advisory firm to not for profit organizations. Alex also has experience in public service having worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a U.S. government agency that mobilizes private capital to help solve critical world challenges, and on the Capitol Hill in Washington DC for a Minnesota Congressman. Alex has served as a Board Fellow at one of the most enchanting Aquariums in the world, California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium, and a Rising Fellow at the Hoover Institution, a world renowned public policy think tank. Alex graduated with Honors from American University with both an Economic Theory and International Relations degree and he earned an MBA and Certificate of Public Management from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Alex is happily married to his wife, Maria-Paz, who has the most important job in the world, raising their beautiful baby girl.
Ken Huey, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer/Founder
After completing his BA in English, Ken Huey received a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University. He then earned his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University. Dr. Huey has been working with troubled youth for 17 years. He started his career in the helping professions as a therapist in community mental health. He then spent time in a private practice focusing on family preservation/in-home therapy. As part of that practice he also worked on custody evaluations and provided expert witness testimony for courts in Indiana. Dr. Huey moved to Utah and began work with troubled youth in a residential treatment setting. He joined Provo Canyon School at the beginning of 2003 and was named as their Director of Business Development in June of 2004. He left Provo Canyon in July of 2005 and joined West Ridge Academy as their Director of Clinical Services.

In November of 2006, Dr. Huey helped launch CALO. Dr. Huey has presented at conferences around the country on issues of parenting, couples communication, and residential care. He serves on the boards of the Attachment and Trauma Network (ATN), the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP), and the Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children (ATTACh). He and his wife, Jo, live in remote Linn Creek, Missouri with their 6 children. Prior to the Huey family arriving in Linn Creek, the population was 280. The Huey family increased the Linn Creek population by 3% (288). Chiggers and ticks are their only neighbors.
Landon Kirk, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Clinical Director/ Chief Operations Officer/Co-Founder
Landon has been working with children, adolescents, adults and families for the past 15 years. During graduate school, Landon became immersed in the world of adoption and attachment and this became a personal and professional passion of his. Following the completion of his Master of Social Work degree from BYU in 2003, Landon was hired as a full-time clinician where his responsibilities were divided between therapy, birth parent and adoptive couple work. Specifically, Landon worked with birth parents struggling with the option to marry, single-parent, or place their child for adoption and provided counseling and resources to help them make their important decision. An adoptive parent himself, Landon also counseled, approved, and placed prospective adoptive families with children. Landon feels very close to many adoptive parents and the shared issues of infertility, longing to have children, and post-adoption issues. In December of 2005, Landon joined West Ridge Academy as a full-time therapist. Within six months he was promoted as the Campus Administrator; supervising, coaching, and training all residential staff on how to mentor, engage, and lead male and female students in residential treatment. In January of 2007, Landon was hired as the Clinical Director and Chief Operations Officer for CALO. Landon is originally from Jacksonville, Florida although he has also lived in Kansas, Idaho, Minnesota, and Utah before moving to Missouri. Landon enjoys many sports and outdoor recreation especially football, tennis, basketball, golf, camping, hiking, and fly-fishing. Top on his list of interests is spending time with his wife Jill and their son Tanner (2004) and daughter Kambrie (2009). The Kirks reside in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Nicole Fuglsang, M.A., L.P.C., N.C.C.
Director of Business Development & Admissions/Co-Founder
Nicole has worked for over 19 years with adolescents and their families as a youth leader, therapist and Admissions Director. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Denver Seminary. Her graduate focus was in child, adolescent, and family psychotherapy, and course work allowed her to complete all academic requirements for licensure as a Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri. Nicole's clinical experience includes work in community and crisis counseling centers, national youth service and ministry organizations, long-term residential treatment programs, and short-term behavioral health care facilities. In these environments she has provided a broad range of mental health and general support services including individual, group, and family psychotherapy, clinical assessments, treatment planning, case management, and referral services. Her areas of clinical expertise include facilitation of adolescent behavioral interventions, treatment of mood and motivational difficulties, eating disorder treatment and prevention, and family crisis management. Nicole is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association as well as the American Association of Christian Counselors. As a trained and experienced clinician, she provides a depth of expertise to inquiring families and referral sources not often found in admissions departments. Nicole and her husband Matt, live in Osage Beach, Missouri with their three children, Jacob, Abigail and Matalyn.
Vicki Wagner
Human Resources Director
Vicki Wagner joined CALO in August 2008. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her parents and two older brothers. Before relocating to the Lake of the Ozarks, Vicki spent 25 years working with the elderly. She worked as a Business Office Director, Fundraiser and Human Resources Director before moving to the corporate entity serving as Facility Liaison to 20 managed and owned communities. In this capacity she served within the Finance Department providing customer service and relations to hundreds of staff and family members. Vicki resides in Linn Creek with her husband, Richard and two cocker spaniels, Annie and Berkley. Vicki has three children, Ryan 27, Kyle 25 and Richie 24. She most enjoys family and friends and hobbies include lake activities, watching sports, bowling and fishing an occasional tournament with her husband.
Rob Gent, M.A., L.P.C.
Assistant Clinical Director, Therapist
Originally from San Clemente, California Rob headed south to San Diego where he graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication. He then headed to the Midwest where he graduated with honors from Webster University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. Rob has had a passion for working with youth since he was in college. He feels extremely privileged to be able to participate in the emotional and behavioral growth of adolescents and their families. This passion led Rob to complete all of his practicum units at a child advocacy center where he became intimately experienced with the therapeutic healing and growth of children and their families faced with varies types of trauma and abuse. This invaluable experience motivated Rob to work in private practice where he specialized in testing, assessment, group therapy with adolescents in a school setting, and individual therapy. Being a part of CALO has allowed Rob to utilize his education, experience, and passion in a therapeutic environment focused on providing the highest quality of treatment. Rob lives in Osage Beach with his wife Katy and their sons Bailey and Riley.
Chris Allison, B.A.
Program Director
Chris has worked with and mentored youth for nearly 10 years in a variety of settings. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2005, Chris became the College Program Director for a local church in West Palm Beach. It was there his passion for working with youth was cemented. Before arriving at CALO, Chris was the Operations and Human Resources Manager for Fun Depot, a large Family Entertainment Center in Lake Worth, Florida. Chris is very excited to be working with CALO as the Program Director as it combines his love for youth with his management and supervisory experience. Chris is an avid outdoorsman and can’t wait to explore the hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping Missouri has to offer. He and his wife Krista live in Lake Ozark, MO
Krista Allison, Ed.S.
Academic Director
Krista is currently working on her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. She began her career working at a residential treatment center in Florida, which ignited a passion for educating troubled youth. Since then, she has focused her dissertation on students’ educational experiences within the residential treatment center. Krista has a passion for education and has mentored youth in a variety of settings for nearly 10 years. She has experience teaching college courses, grant writing, and working with a variety of residential treatment centers in many capacities. She is excited for the opportunity to work with CALO as the Academic Director and hopes to pass on her passion for education to all the students. She and her husband Chris live in Lake Ozark, Missouri. If she is not completing her doctoral work during her free time, she loves to be outdoors enjoying nature or spending time with family and friends.
Christy Maher, Psy.D.
Therapist
Dr. Christy Maher is originally from Richmond, Virginia. Prior to joining CALO's clinical team, Dr. Maher lived in Georgia for 2 years where she worked as an Associate Director of Counseling at a well respected therapeutic boarding school. As an Associate Director of Counseling, Dr. Maher supervised eight masters level therapists, facilitated parent workshops, was the lead therapist for all post-graduate students and provided group, individual and family therapy for students in the program. She reviewed student’s psychological reports and assisted in the development of treatment plans. Dr. Maher also facilitated treatment team meetings to discuss struggling students, regularly evaluated counseling staff skills and training needs, traveled to job related conferences and met with referral sources. During her last few months at Hidden Lake Academy she transitioned to the Director of Admissions position where she supervised and facilitated the acceptance and enrollment process for students and their families.

Dr. Maher received her undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University in Early Childhood Psychology. After completing her Bachelor degree she continued her education, receiving her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. For three years during her doctoral training she worked with children, adolescents and adults in individual and family sessions. Dr. Maher moved to Bakersfield, California for a year where she completed her doctoral internship. Her clinical internship focused on the forensic population and she worked with adjudicated adolescents at Kern County Crossroads Facility. She also performed Competency to Stand Trial evaluations and worked with probationed adult sexual offenders for Kern County Mental Health. At both facilities she performed intake and full psychological assessments, developed and implemented treatment plans, and facilitated individual and group therapy sessions. Dr. Maher has been a therapist at CALO since August 2007.
Kimberly Kucsik, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Therapist
Kim graduated in 1992 from the University of South Dakota with her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Social Work with a minor in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1995 with a Master of Social Work. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri. She has over 16 years experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Kim’s experience includes work in many mental health settings. These include a college HELP center, elementary school, Level 1 Trauma Center, two residential treatment centers for adolescents, and two outpatient mental health centers. She has also worked as an Adoption Caseworker and did home-based therapy with children and adolescents and their families. Her experience in adolescent residential treatment includes 5 years as a coach/behavioral health specialist. She has provided a wide variety of services, including assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family, group, marriage and employee assistance counseling. She has lived in Missouri for over 11 years. She has been employed as a therapist for the past 13 years, aside from taking two years off to be a stay-at-home Mom. She and her husband, Robert, live in Four Seasons, MO with their two children, Ethan and Ella.
Amanda Gregory, M.A., L.P.C.
Clinical Manager
Amanda graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology. She began working with children and families in residential treatment facilities, and private practice in Kansas City, Missouri and domestic violence shelters in Maryville, Missouri. In these environments she provided counseling, case management, and crisis intervention services. Amanda graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling and Guidance. During her graduate studies, Amanda conducted an exploration of Western Europe. Backpacking through Ireland, Scotland, England, Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Greece, Amanda experienced endless cultural diversity. This voyage would prove to be the backbone of her passion to incorporate multicultural awareness and sensitivity into therapeutic interactions. Upon returning to the United States, Amanda continued her work with children, adolescents and families in community mental health centers in Kansas City, Missouri where she provided diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, case management, and individual, group, and family counseling. Amanda has been a therapist at CALO since June 2008. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and two children, Gabriel and Ava.
Evan Page, M.A., N.C.C.
Therapist
Evan completed his Bachelors of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Colorado Mesa University. After graduation, he worked at Doulos, a residential treatment center for teens in Colorado. While there, Evan lived with and mentored students who struggled with depression, anger, self-destructive tendencies, and manipulation. This opportunity cemented Evan's desire to counsel teens and, after a brief expedition in North Africa to teach English, he went on to receive his Masters degree in Counseling from Denver Seminary. During this time Evan co-facilitated orientation for incoming counselors and helped run the school’s community counseling center, Shepherd’s Gate. Evan joined the CALO team in 2010, and has enjoyed working with students as they repair their relationships and grow and develop into confident young men and women. Evan is a member of the American Counseling Association and is Prepare and Enrich Certified. In his free time he enjoys reading, hiking, and overseas humanitarian work.
Michael Koehler, M.A.
Therapist
For the better part of the last decade, Michael has mentored and counseled youth in a variety of settings including wilderness, residential, school, service learning and volunteer programs. In 2010 Michael graduated from Naropa University in Boulder, CO with a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and Wilderness Therapy. Michael gained extensive experience in therapy with teens during his graduate internship working as an interventionist in a public high school. Before that Michael served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand and was able to travel all over Southeast Asia. Michael has also spent significant time volunteering as a youth leader in South and Central America. Given Michael’s depth of skill leading youth in the woods and urban settings both at home and abroad, he brings an experiential, client-centered and relationship-based approach to therapy. A native to Kansas City, Missouri, it has been a true homecoming for Michael to relocate to the Ozarks and join CALO. In his free time, Michael enjoys music, hikes through the woods with his dog Zephyr, fishing, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Kim Duryea, M.A.
Therapist
Raised in the South, by two mid-west parents, Kim grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia where she received her Bachelor’s Degree at the Art Institute of Atlanta in Interior Architecture. Her deep passion for working with teens placed her in various environments as a camp counselor, teacher, and mentor in churches and schools. In these settings, Kim found nature and art to be her primary and unparalleled method of healing relationship and connection. This led her to take several trips overseas to South and Central America where her passion for culture and adoption grew. Kim mentored, taught seminars, and led American teens in cultural immersion experiences and personal growth and team building opportunities. Her passion for counseling and relationship led her to Denver, Colorado where she completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. In Denver, Kim served as a Community Events Coordinator at her church designing and implementing community wide events. In addition, she spent a considerable amount of time volunteering at the Eating Disorder Foundation of Denver. Kim’s specific line of work has focused on developmental progress and delays in adolescents and young adults. Kim has worked at a college university where she identified appropriate treatment options for individuals with a myriad of these issues. Her specialties include multicultural counseling, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, attachment issues, addictions, eating disorders, parent-child relationship, identity issues, and life skills. She has also worked as a group therapist initiating options for individuals and couples considering divorce. Kim is Prepare Enrich Certified. In her free time, Kim enjoys running, reading, cooking, photography, writing, entertaining, and nearly every outdoor activity. She lives in Osage Beach with her six year old tabby cat named Georgia.
Cory Neusche, M.A., P.L.P.C.
Therapist
After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Drury University, Cory earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, with a double emphasis in Human Growth and Development and School Counseling from Saint Louis University. Currently, she is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor, a certified school counselor, a certified teacher, and a member of the American Counseling Association. Cory’s graduate work focused on working with youth and their families in a variety of settings, including public schools, an inner-city clinic, and a non-profit agency, providing individual, family, and group counseling. Her specific clinical experiences of working with families going through divorce, separation, and loss reinforced her passion for working with adolescents and strengthened her relationship focused and goal-oriented approach to therapy. While earning her degrees, Cory worked as a substitute teacher and an individual support staff advocating for individuals with disabilities throughout the community. In her free time, Cory enjoys hiking, playing soccer, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Originally from St. Louis, Cory recently moved to the lake area and resides in Camdenton with her husband, Jacob and two dogs, Ellie and Noah.
Logan Densley, M.S.W., L.M.S.W.
Therapist/Recreational Therapy Assistant
After completing his BA in psychology at Utah Valley University, Logan worked with troubled youth for six years. Logan then moved to Nevada and began working with troubled youth in a residential treatment setting at Horizon Academy in early 2005 and quickly became their Assistant Director of Operations. He then left Horizon in January of 2007 and became the Director of Pacific View Academy. Logan then took a position at Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah as the Assistant Lodge Coordinator working with clients suffering from substance abuse in adults, and their families. Logan returned to school to obtain his Masters in Social Work, during which time he worked as a therapist in the Provo School District and at Front Line Services, which specializes in working with children that have been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. In 2011, Logan joined the CALO Team as a Therapist and Recreations Therapist. Logan and his wife April have a son, Anson, and a dog Cooper. They enjoy sports, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

 

Mike R., R.N.
Nursing Coordinator
Mike and his wife moved to Lake of the Ozarks 2 years ago from Des Moines, Iowa. Mike was in the restaurant business for 28 years and wanted to find a more meaningful occupation. He obtained his Iowa Paramedic Specialist certification in 1998 and volunteered with the local Fire Department when he decided to take it a step further. He obtained his Registered Nurse license and has worked as a nurse exclusively in Emergency Department - until he discovered the opportunity to work with adolescents at CALO. He holds certifications in trauma nursing, advanced life support and pediatric life support. Mike enjoys interacting with the teens at CALO and tries to give them a positive picture of what the future can hold for them. Mike, Kathy and their Labrador, live on the quiet side of the lake and enjoy boating, fishing, fish fry's and spending time with friends and family.
Maryann D., R.N.
Nurse
Mary Ann is from St Louis MO. She and her husband moved to the lake area from St Louis in 2002. She is married and has two grown children and one grandchild, Lily. Mary Ann graduated from St Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She worked in the hospital as a staff nurse for 15 years. The past 20 years she has worked in various home health positions. Mary Ann says she is excited to be part of the CALO team.

Nurse
Joy has lived and worked in the lake area since 1969. She enjoys spending time with her husband Lloyd, taking care of her home, fishing, and going to visit her 3 sons and 5 grandchildren, all who live out of state. She has always enjoyed working with people and has held positions with the Missouri State Parks System, Windermere Baptist Conference Center and the Camdenton R-III School District. Joy began her college education in 2006 and successfully obtained her RN licensure in 2010. Since she began employment at CALO the staff continues to amaze her and the students have gained a special place in her heart. She hopes to have a positive influence on the lives of everyone she comes in contact with.
Lisa H., R.N.
Nurse
Lisa, has lived in the lake area with her husband for 20 years. My children include Christine, (degree from Mizzou in Television Journalism) and Jacob, (School of the Osage High School). Her beautiful granddaughter, Lily, has brought much joy to our lives. Her papillion, Natasha, thinks that she is a baby person. Herr family has rescued numerous animals throughout the years. Currently, she serves as School of the Osage High School PTA President and has served 8 previous terms as well. The first 10 plus years at the lake were spent as a full time volunteer working with children and animals. Nursing has allowed her to combine a desire to help others with her love of science. She believes that getting paid to work as a nurse with students and animals at CALO is amazing. She also works at the Lake area hospital. Her greatest joy working at CALO has been to be a part of such a successful program! It is heartwarming to see students that have come here distraught and frowning graduate with smiles on their faces and a positive outlook towards the future with their loving families. As a result she says, "I am now the world’s biggest advocate of Canine Therapy!" Her favorite author is Leo Tolstoy and Florence Nightengale is her role model. Florence Nightengale said, “The most important practical lesson that can be given to nurses is to teach them what to observe.” The emotional healing that she has observed at CALO has been tremendous!
Sara M., R.N.
Nurse
Sara has spent her life in central Missouri. She is a graduate of Columbia College and has experience in retail, conservation, schools, and hospitals. Sara is also a volunteer with ShowMe Response. She feels that she has found a professional home at CALO, where she is allowed to combine two things she is passionate about: medicine and children. Sara enjoys working and interacting with both the staff and the students and is eager to make as positive of an impact on their lives as they have on hers.

 

Abby M., B.A.
Academic Registrar
Abby was born and raised in Kirksville, MO. Upon graduation of high school, she relocated to the extremely small town of Fayette, MO, where she attended Central Methodist College. She graduated from CMC in December of 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Science. She holds two teaching certificates in High School Social Studies and Elementary Education. She married her college sweetheart, Morgan, and together they have four children; Scout, Molly and twins, Kinley & Reagan. Abby loves working with children and feels that teaching is her true calling. She enjoys challenges and hopes that she is able to make a positive impact on all the students that she teaches.
Jennifer R., B.S.
Lead Teacher
Jennifer has lived in the lake area all of her life. She attended high school at School of the Osage. After graduation, Jennifer attended the University of Central Missouri to pursue a degree in education. She graduated from Central Missouri in December of 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. After working as a second grade teacher for several years, Jennifer began tutoring at CALO in the spring of 2008. Within a few weeks, she realized CALO was the place for her to grow as individual by helping teens achieve their academic goals. In the summer of 2008 she became a permanent part of the CALO academic team. Jennifer believes that teaching students is what has made her become the person she is today. She loves students of all ages and strives to help each one individual to become a positive and self motivated learner.
Phyllis H., M.A.
Teacher
Phyllis' dream of becoming a special education teacher happened at the age of forty-five, after raising five biological children; one with mild learning disabilities, and then adopting a 12 year old child to love and cherish. It was a teacher who encouraged her to return to school and pursue her career. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in several areas of special education and elementary education. Phyllis then pursued a Master's degree in special reading from Northwest Missouri State University. She taught special education for seventeen years, six years in the Camdenton RIII Schools, and eight years in the Special School District in the Saint Louis County Schools. Phyllis retired in 2006 and moved back to Camdenton. She was a substitute teacher for two years in the Camdenton School District when she saw an advertisement in the newspaper for a teacher at CALO and saw a chance to continue to enjoy working with children. 
Phil Y., B.S.
Teacher
Phil comes to CALO after thirty-five years teaching elementary and secondary art in a public and a private school. He grew up on a farm near Winterset, Iowa (Bridges of Madison County), with a great love for animals and the outdoors. After high school, Phil went to Southwestern Community College and then on to Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, Missouri, where he earned his BS in Art Education. His first teaching job was with the Ankeny Community Schools just north of Des Moines, Iowa. Phil taught elementary art in Ankeny for 15 years before moving his family to the St. Louis area. While in Iowa, Phil had a pottery shop in the Lake of the Ozarks one summer and returned several other summers for an artist-in-residence position, demonstrating his love and skill for pottery making. While in the St. Louis area, Phil taught for twenty years at a private school in Chesterfield, Missouri. He started the art program for the elementary and the secondary art program, at the satellite school in St. Albans, Missouri. Phil has illustrated a book "I'm Not a Tomboy" and produced many large pottery pieces for the school there. Phil moved to the Lake of the Ozarks as part of the goals he had set for himself and someday hopes to open a pottery shop again. Phil has three children and eleven grandchildren which he loves to spend time with and sees them more than ever since his move. Besides his grandchildren, Phil loves pottery, both on the wheel and hand building, helping and teaching kids, boating, skiing, landscaping, and genealogy.
Katte D.
Teacher
Katte was born, raised, and currently resides around the Jefferson City, Missouri area. She is a full-time college student taking on-line classes in order to receive her BA in Mathematics. She has always worked well with children and enjoys helping others. This coupled with her life experiences help her to relate to the children and families at Change Academy. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite hobby is chasing her niece around. But she also enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time on water whenever possible.
Dominique K.
Teacher
Dominique grew up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. In December of 2010, she graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education with a Mathematics and Language Arts concentration. Dominique has a daughter, Emilea, who was born in March of 2007. She recently got engaged to a long time friend, Chris. She thoroughly enjoys working with kids and is very blessed to have found CALO.

 

Jordan V.
Recreational Therapy Lead
Jordan was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and spent his school years in Lake Ozark, Missouri. He attended School of the Osage from Kindergarten through graduation in 2003. Jordan then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to earn his certificate in Audio Engineering. After graduating from SAE Institute of Technology he moved back to the lake and started working with the youth group at Christ’s Church while interning with Kikstart Records. Jordan, with his patience and devotion to today's youth, looks forward to helping the students at CALO lead lives of purpose.
Coty H.
Assistant Program Director
Coty was born here in Bolivar, Missouri. He grew up there, attended school, and was always active in sports, such as basketball, football, and golf. In 2004, he moved to the lake area and he earned his diploma from Camdenton High School. Coty has been attending college and hopes to graduate with a business administration degree from Columbia college in the near future. He is the residential coaching supervisor for the residential department and loves every minute of it, leaving every day knowing that he has helped in making a difference for the students and staff here at CALO. As a person who overcame many obstacles as a teen, he takes pride in knowing he is a part of helping these teens overcome their obstacles and leaving their future wide open for great possibilities. Coty is active in his community, including the Osage schools where his daughter currently attends, and loves being able to lend a hand wherever he can. He currently resides Lake Ozark with his 3 kids, Alyssa, Cayson and Brayden.

Residential/Program Manager
Brian is married, has two sons and is a life long resident of the Lake area. He has been employed with CALO since July of 2008, and before that he tutored at risk youth in a local public high school. He also spent time as the director of children’s ministry with Calvary Chapel at Lake of the Ozarks. Brian is still very active at Calvary Chapel with small group teaching and discipleship. It is the combination of his passion for his faith and adolescents that has led him to go back to school where he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in biblical counseling. In Brian’s free time he spends as much as possible outdoors and especially enjoys mountain biking.

Mike was born in the country of Taiwan and was adopted from an orphanage in Taipei when he was 2 yrs old. Mike has lived in Missouri most of his life and believes in valuing relationships. Mike will graduate from Lincoln University of Missouri with his B.A in Physical Education / Health with his lifelong intentions to help make a difference in the lives of children at many age levels. Since the age of 10, Mike has worked in many organized youth programs. A lot of the programs pertain to sports participation and collective youth care. Mike is currently a residential coach with CALO and works directly with students to provide the utmost care and attention that each child may need. He has been employed with CALO from the very beginning and has grown to watch the enjoyment of changing lives within the adolescents. He hopes to use his experiences and knowledge to help create change and relate with the students at CALO so that they may use these experiences to help build healthy relationships.

Mike was born in St. Louis Missouri. He moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 2004 after having vacationed here for many years. Mike is married to Melissa and has two sons and a daughter, Ethan, Joshua and Addyson. He is grateful to have the opportunity to work with great staff and wonderful students and says, “this was not my lifelong goal but working with adolescents quickly became my passion”.

Ben moved to the lake area from Kansas City when he was 4 years old. He graduated from Camdenton High School, and then moved on to college. Ben was forced to drop out of college due to the untimely passing of his mother and then moved back home to help take care of his then 12 year old sister. Ben has traveled all over the world including Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and all over the USA. He loves working at CALO and believes in giving back to kids.
Zachary V.

Zachary was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, but spent most of his childhood growing up in the St. Louis area. Zach moved to the lake area in 2002 with his family where he graduated from Camdenton High School. Zach was active in sports and the Lake Career Technical center where he was president of Skills USA his senior year. Zach is very family oriented and enjoys spending his free time on his family’s farm where he helps care for their horses. Zach has always enjoyed working with youth, and believes that he has found a future here at CALO.

Lead Residential Coach
Travis was born and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He has been married to Misti since 2001. They have 2 children their daughter, Raine, and their son, Gavin. In South Dakota, they, owned and operated a Construction company, an Overhead Door Company, and a Daycare. Needing a change after doing construction work all of his life, and living in the same place for 32 years, Travis and his family decided to sell all their businesses and make the life changing move to Missouri. Travis and his family moved to Missouri in the summer of 2009 because they have always loved the beautiful Lake Ozark area. Wanting to try something new with his life, Travis began to realize through his wife Misti, and her work experiences at CALO, that working with teens as a mentor was something he needed and wanted to do. Travis started at CALO as a residential coach in December of 2009 and has found true joy and pride in his job. The road may have been long but Travis has found his life's calling.

Alyson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from the University of Central Missouri with a BS in Elementary Education, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue her teaching degree. There, she taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade for over two years. She began her Masters in Education at Northern Arizona University, but returned to Missouri to pursue a career change. Alyson came across Change Academy where she has found a new passion in helping the younger generation. Her ability to relate to the students and help them through everyday struggles has led her to want to return to school for her Masters in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.

Ryan was born in New Britain, Connecticut and then moved to Maine when he was only two years old. Ryan lived in northern Maine for eleven years and then moved to Missouri where he graduated from Camdenton High School. Ryan was a member of Skills USA at Lake Career Technical center. In his spare time he likes to walk in the wilderness and enjoy taking in the sceneries. He has a step son two years of age. Ryan enjoys working at CALO and is thankful to be around the students and staff he works with.

Susi was adopted in the state of Massachusetts and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA with her parents and two siblings. She attended Gordon College in Wenham, MA prior to being employed by American Express in Boston. In 1994, Susi moved with her husband and children to North Dakota where she was employed as a Juvenile Tracker with Lutheran Social Services and with McIntosh County Social Services as an eligibility worker issuing Medicaid and Food Stamps. She has worked with teens all of her adult life through her association with Young Life, juvenile tracking, as a youth group leader at Calvary Chapel Lake of the Ozarks, and as a homeschooling mom to her sons Jacob, 16, and Jonah, 13. Susi and her husband, Gary, have been married for 18 years. Working at CALO has been a blessing and an honor for Susi as she pursues what she believes is a God-given passion for positively influencing the lives of young people.

Stephanie grew up in Buffalo, Illinois and received her Associate in Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Lincoln Land Community College in May 2008. She continued her education at Western Illinois University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration in May 2010. At WIU, she was a member of the Psychology Club and Lambda Alpha Epsilon. She also volunteered at Project Insight (an alternative high school) as an observer while at WIU. Stephanie is pursuing her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Counseling. Her lifelong career goals are to counsel teenagers and make a positive impact on their lives. Stephanie believes the satisfaction and enjoyment of helping to transform one’s life is one of the most rewarding adventures ever. In her free time, Stephanie loves spending time with her family, boyfriend, and friends. She also loves playing with her two dogs, Emme and Daisi. Stephanie enjoys music, playing video games, cooking, watching movies, the outdoors and just having fun.

Doug grew up in Lincoln, Illinois and moved to the lake area in 2000 with his wife, Kandy, and their two sons, Ryan and Nolan. Doug worked in the building trades for several years before coming to CALO in 2010. He studied theatre at Illinois State University where he met and married his wife. He is very involved with his boys and they share his passion for bow hunting and music. Doug really enjoys the sense of family and caring that CALO offers to it’s students and it’s staff and feels that working at CALO is the most rewarding job he’s ever had.

Tony moved to the Lake of the Ozarks when he was three years old from Ottawa, IL. He graduated from School of the Osage in 2007. After graduating high school, he moved to Hollywood, CA to attend the Musicians Institute of Hollywood. There he earned his Associates Degree in Music Performance in Contemporary Styles. After graduating the Musicians Institute, he moved back to the Lake area. Before working at CALO, he had never before worked with adolescents. He took this as an opportunity to learn how to build relationships with adolescents in preparation for one day starting his own family.

Micheal was born and raised in the Lake of the Ozarks area. He is married and has two wonderful daughters, who he loves to spend his time with. Micheal visited a family friend in Mesa, AZ who are house parents and run a home for several teenagers. Micheal was able to spend a couple of days with the family and teens where he decided the thing he wanted to do with his life is to help, give back, and work with youth. Micheal then found CALO and applied right away. Micheal loves being a staff at CALO and enjoys everyday he gets to spend with the teens here at CALO.

Channing was born in Springfield, Mo. and spent most of his life growing up at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camdenton. He graduated from Camdenton High School and went on to College at Evangel University to play football on a scholarship for the next three years. Channing aspires to work with kids full time as a teacher and coach. Channing has a passion for sports and a heart for kids. Channing has had positive role models as coaches and hopes to be that same positive influence one day as a coach himself. Channing sees CALO as a great opportunity to gain experience working with kids and help them give themselves a chance to change their lives for the better.

Kylie is 21 years old and has lived at the Lake of the Ozarks for about 8 years. Kylie has 3 siblings, 2 younger sisters, and a younger brother (3 years old), whom which she spends most of her time with. Kylie is currently going to college for a Business Degree. Kylie spends most of her spare time with her family and her fiance. Kylie has always enjoyed working with kids. Kylie enjoys playing sports, especially tennis, and reading. Kylie loves working at CALO and she enjoys being able to help people when they need it the most.

Nathan has lived in Lake of the Ozarks, MO since he was 6. He graduated in 2004 and shortly after joined the US Army. After completing 4 years of service, Nathan was honorably discharged from the military and moved back to the lake area. Nathan is currently working on his B.A. in History with a secondary in Middle School Education and hopes to one day become a teacher. Nathan has a big passion for animals and volunteers at the local animal shelter. In his spare time he likes to play games and watch movies with his fiance, who shares his passions for helping adolescents. Nathan chose to work at CALO to help gain experience working with adolescents and further his career.

Tiffanie grew up at the Lake of the Ozarks. She was involved in sports while she attended high school including volleyball and basketball. She loves being outdoors and her interests include hiking, biking, camping, water sports and loves anything that allows her to be outside. Her passions in life include photography, art, music, animals, and helping children. Tiffanie believes being able to make even the slightest positive impact in a child's life is what drew her to work with the team at CALO.

Dustin was born and lived in Highland, IL until he was 16 and then moved with his family to the Lake of the Ozarks. While in school he participated in many sports and activities. After graduating high school, he attended school to become an EMT but soon decided it wasn't for him and went back to college where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. He has since gone back to school to pursue his B.A. in education in hopes to fulfill his dream of being a school Athletic Director. Dustin came to CALO on the referral of a friend who was also a coach. He loves working with kids to make a change in their life.

Rachel grew up in Iowa in the town of West Burlington where she enjoyed music, drama, athletics, and reading. In 2008 she graduated from Southeastern Community College with an Associate's degree. That summer she got married and moved to Pella where she attended Central College. At Central, her love for people and social issues led her to change her major from business to sociology. She received her Bachelor's from Central in 2010 and moved to the Lake in 2011. She currently enjoys living at the Lake with her husband, their dogs named Maya and Koda, and cat named Jeda. She has previously been employed in a variety of positions from managing a bridal shop to working in banks. She considers herself lucky to have the opportunity to help improve the lives of others by working at CALO.

Michael was born in Jefferson City Missouri and raised at Lake of the Ozarks. He traveled Asia and taught English to youth at a boarding school in Thailand. After some time overseas, he returned to the states and met his wife and now has three sons and a daughter. Michael's passion in life is music. He enjoys connecting with youth playing songs together. He was attracted to CALO because it was way to encourage a positive lifestyle in others.

Jose was born on the lovely island of Puerto Rico but brought up by his wonderful mother in the United States where he attended school and currently resides. Having some understanding of the complexities that torment our students, Jose is able to help mentor and coach students through their struggles. Jose has a deep love for his wife and children and shares his love and compassion with the students at CALO. Instilling healthy social and emotional characteristics in our students is the most satisfying part of the job to Jose. He believes such social and emotional traits are essential in living a successful life.

Paula has lived at the Lake for 31 years. After graduating from Camdenton High School she took a job in the retail industry. Working with people, getting to know them, and befriending them has always been a keen talent for Paula. Married with 5 kids, she loves to garden, hike, swim, run, go camping, and work outdoors on her farm, and especially work with the youth at church and spend as much time as possible with her kids. Being a residential coach at CALO offers her the perfect opportunity to use her life skills and social talents to help CALO youth prepare for their future and excel in life.

Tony was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois. He was adopted at the age of 13 by his biological grandmother. Tony was very involved in sports during high school including football, hockey and baseball. He enjoyed skateboarding, biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and also any extreme sports. Tony was a volunteer Fire Fighter for 7 years while he was working towards his Fire Science degree. He worked in the Anesthesia department in the operating room of Lake Regional Hospital, mainly in the Open Heart thoracic surgery department. Tony has worked with several children’s programs including tutoring special education students. He says his main goals for his career have always been to help people. In some career choices he says he has not felt the fulfillment that he gets interacting and working with teenagers and children. Through his childhood he says, “I struggled with making the right choices for the right reasons. Having learned about making the right choices on my own makes me feel privileged to help teach the students at CALO. I enjoy helping our students to make good choices and helping to guide them along the right path”. Tony plans to continue his education in Psychology with his main focus on children and relationships.

Savannah is originally from Okeechobee, FL where she lived the majority of her life. She graduated from Okeechobee High School in 2006 and was part of the Future Business Leaders of America Club. Savannah went to Indian River State College to study Business and Accounting before doing some traveling. Savannah has lived in several different states including California, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia and Missouri. She enjoyed equestrian competitions when she was younger and into her teens as well as also enjoying various sports in her free time. Savannah found herself wanting to live closer to family and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2009. Savannah has enjoyed being around kids all her life and decided that CALO would be the next step for her to help make a difference in the lives of others. Savannah became a mother herself in November of 2010 to an amazing little boy named Zane. She is excited to provide for her new son as well as the students here at CALO.

Willie was born in Anaheim, CA. and was heavily involved in numerous sports all throughout his childhood and early adult years. He has lived in Missouri on and off for about 15 years. Willie has spent a lot of time travelling around the globe while working with a variety of ministries and is now in the process of starting his own ministry, Beautiful Feet Ministries, with the express purpose of planting churches overseas.

Kris was born in Wichita, Kansas and grew up in Pasadena, California. With a fondness of the midwest he purchased a vacation home in the Lake of the Ozarks and now calls Missouri home. Kris holds a B.A. in Communications from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. In recent years, Kris worked as a community coordinator planning events and services for apartment communities and retirement homes. Other accomplishments include: being a home builder, real estate agent and an insurance adjuster. In his spare time, Kris enjoys being with his friends and family. Other interests include involvement in a local church and missionary trips and an upcoming trip to the Ukraine.

Residential Coach
Joe received his GED in 1979 and then joined the army in 1980 where he pursued his general studies, later changing to social psychology. Upon retiring from the army Joe went to work for Texas ReEntry Services in Fort Worth as a peer Educator Counselor as a Partner for MHMR ( Mental Health and Mental Retardation) working with street out reach in a 6 thousand square mile radius, delivering assistance for HIV and Hep C clients. offering free testing and medical assistance for minorities and low income clients. After a year of this wonderful service Joe was asked to if he would be interested in working with the youth in his community as a Juvenile Case Manager, which he gladly accepted. He worked along with TYC (Texas Youth Commission) and the Dallas And Fort Worth Parole and Probation Officers to help locate for the youth housing, employment, medical, GED and to provide them with youth mentors. Joe loved this career change and has worked diligently in this area as a new found passion for the youth in his community. Joe went to visit family in Dec. 2010 in Lebanon, Mo. and fell in love with fishing and hunting. Both Joe and his wife Laurel agreed to move to Missouri, and now reside in Macks Creek, at the Lake of the Ozarks. Joe found CALO and heard about the wonderful work that CALO offers for the youth that reside there and felt that this is a wonderful opportunity to continue his passion in working with children and young teens. Joe was offered a position as a Residential Coach at Calo, in which he loves very much. Joe is also looking into going back to collage and pursuing his degree in Social Psychology in order to use his gift and skills for the youth here at CALO.

Hillary recently moved from Kansas City to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2011 after vacationing on the weekends since she was young. Hillary earned her Associates degree in Medical Billing & Coding in December 2010. Hillary worked for HyVee for 7 years before discovering CALO. Hillary came to work at CALO to pursue her passion of helping and caring for others. Hillary currently lives in Lake Ozark with her fiancé Spencer, and their two cats, Buca and Toby. Hillary enjoys spending time with family, camping, boating, and fishing bass tournaments with Spencer. Hillary hopes to continue her education one day possibly in the field of nursing.

Residential Coach
Justin was adopted at the age of four and grew up in Bakersfield, CA. At the age of 16, he was sent to West Ridge Academy in Utah where he was diagnosed with Sever Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). After a few months he was chosen as one of the first students to attend CALO. Justin was there for a year and two months and was able to work through his struggles. After CALO, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and honorably served his country. After leaving the corps, Justin returned to CALO as a coach and started working there.

Karen Payne was born in Saint Charles Missouri in 1983. Karen attended high school in Winfield Missouri, and has a background in Business and Culinary Arts. Karen moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2004 where she worked for 7 years before finding her real passion here at CALO working with adolescents.

Julie is a life long resident of the Lake of the Ozarks. She has lived in Camdenton and graduated from Camdenton High School. Every year in elementary school, the question would come up "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Her response was always a mom and her dreams came true in 1996 when she was blessed with her son Alexander and then her daughter Mackenzie four years later. Once both kids were in school, she started volunteering at school and substitute teaching. She then developed a new passion of working with kids and has since gone back to school to work on her teaching degree. She believes that however cliched it may sound, she hopes to light a spark in children so they can realize their hopes, dreams, and desires.

Mike was born in Bristol, Connecticut. He moved to Missouri 11 years ago from Maine. He graduated from Camdenton high school in 2005 and enjoys playing sports. Mike favorite hobbies include basketball, snowboarding, soccer, fishing, riding atv's, walking his over weight dog and riding wave runners. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. A family member and a good friend of Mike suggested to him to work at CALO. He enjoys working with kids and always knew he would work with them someday. Mike joined Calo in Fall of 2011 and has enjoyed every minute of it.

Danny grew up in the small town of California, MO. Danny graduated from California High School in 1992 and relocated to the Lake area after marrying his beautiful wife Christy. Christy has blessed Danny with two wonderful step children named Allison and Andrew. Danny always had a dream to attend College but the opportunity was not there until about 2 years ago. Danny got the opportunity to start his education in the nursing profession before coming to CALO. A close friend recommend Danny to come apply to Calo for a Residential coaching position. After working just a few short months, Danny has changed his major into Psychology. He never knew that a job could change his life by helping teens with attachment issues. It has quickly become his life's goal to help teens with special needs.

Rachel was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri where she spent most of her time developing her skills as a team player on various sports teams. After graduating from Rock Bridge High school she took a job in the insurance industry as an auto claim processer but quickly realized she wanted to be part of a helping profession. She decided to return back to school and pursue a degree in nursing which she will be completing this winter at Columbia College. Rachel has had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the mental health field through her employment with the state of Missouri as a Psychiatric Aid at Mid Missouri Mental Health Center and as a Mental Health Advocate at an alcohol and drug treatment center in Columbia. While progressing in school and her career Rachel developed a desire to work with children with attachment disorders after her mother adopted a child who suffered from RAD 5 years ago. Rachel is excited to work with the teens at CALO and looks forward to being a resource for them both emotionally and mentally as well as a role model.

Shellie is a mother of two beautiful children, James, and Paige. She is a local resident of Missouri. She grew up in the lake area, and attended Eldon High School. After high school, she pursued a degree in Business Administration from State Fair Community College. Shellie graduated in May 2000 with an Associate of Arts in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and plans to continue on to obtian her Masters in Social Work. She accepted a job working for the State of Missouri. Working there provided many challenges and lots of diversity for her. Crime Victims' Compensation was the one job she enjoyed the most. She loves to help others, and helping others is exactly what she did while she worked at Crime Victims'. In fact, this job helped her develop the passion to support other people with compassion and understanding. Shellie was drawn to CALO because of this passion, a compassion for other people, and a willingness to help where she can. These are the qualities that make her unique.

Mary was born is Osage Beach Missouri, and Graduated in 2008 from Camdenton High School. After Graduation, Mary moved to St. Louis Missouri to be on her own, and pursue her education in Nursing. After a year, Mary decided that she missed the lake area and her family, and moved back to Osage Beach. Mary found CALO in June 2010 and fell in love. Mary started as a residential coach and after eleven months moved to the administration department.

Canine Therapy Program Supervisor
Jeanna has been married 26 years and has 4 sons. She has lived in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks for 17 years. Jeanna worked in the corporate world for much of her career, but never lost her passion for animals and human relationships. Jeanna is a Certified Canine Trainer and has trained canines for the US Military and Law Enforcement. Her experience has offered her the opportunity to work with wolves and exotic cats, like cougars, panthers and bobcats. She also worked as a Veterinary Technician for large and small, domestic and exotic animals. Jeanna’s desire to work with youth and animals brought her to CALO where she enjoys mentoring students and providing them opportunities to build healthy relationships with canines.
Misti P.
Neurofeedback Administrator
Misti was born and raised in South Dakota. She has two children, Raine and Gavin and has been married to Travis since September 2001. They moved to Lake Ozarks, Missouri in August of 2009. While looking for jobs in the Lake Ozarks area a friend mentioned Change Academy Lake of the Ozarks. Misti began working at CALO by the end of August 2009 as a Residential Coach but was soon offered the position of Neurofeedback Administrator. Misti recognized this opportunity as a chance of a lifetime to help children in this exciting intervention. Misti launched the Neurofeedback program in December of 2009 and is busy training several students with amazing results. In her free time Misti enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, and Sunday football days.

Spiritual Time Coordinator
Jeff has worked with young people most of his adult life by mentoring, teaching, counseling, and ideally by example. Jeff came to CALO in 2007 as a residential coach wishing to impact the lives of teens further. He graduated from Ozark Christian College (Joplin, Missouri) with a degree in Biblical Literature and has applied that learning as minister/pastor and youth minister for over 20 years in Missouri alone, working with young people through church programs, summer church cams, leading and developing teen sessions for state-wide conventions, and teen conference. Jeff ministers with a local church and leads CALO's Sunday Spiritual Time, coordinating, developing, and promoting Spiritual Time participation with students and volunteers from local religious groups (churches, missions, etc.). Jeff hopes to see each student who comes to CALO leave with the tools and encouragement to have and maintain multi-faceted and healthy relationships with insight into the spiritual.
Kathy P.
Clinical Administrative Assistant
Kathy was born and raised in the St. Louis area. Kathy comes from a large family, she has nine brothers and sisters - 2 of her brothers live here at the lake and the other 7 live in the St. Louis area. Through her teenage years, she spent her summers living and working at the lake. Kathy graduated from Ursuline Academy in St. Louis and stayed in Missouri to attend college. Later she moved to Southwest Florida, where she met and married her husband, Joe and has been married for 21 years. Kathy spent several years in the restaurant business and then worked twenty years in Residential Property Management. Kathy and Joe always loved vacationing at the lake and finally decided to move back to Missouri to be near family in 2010.
Monica W.
Clinical Administrative Assistant
Monica is originally from the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. She has always had a heart for children, but it was not until she discovered CALO that she began working with adolescents. Before coming to CALO, she worked at the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, as well as the YMCA working with the youth there. Monica started as a residential coach in 2008 and enjoys spending time with the students and building solid relationships and seeing them through their struggles to overcome their trauma. After a few years, she was offered a position to work on the clinical side of CALO and is excited to have that opportunity. Monica is grateful to be a part of CALO and has truly seen the drastic changes that can happen in adolescents when they come to CALO. She is currently working towards her degree in Psychology and wants to continue to work with troubled teens. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, running, photography, and spending quality time with her family especially her nieces that she spoils on a weekly basis.
Joe G.
Campus Coordinator
Joe is a father of two young children ages 10 and 5. He grew up in Central Missouri on a farm where he raised cattle. After high school Joe attended Drury University of Rolla Missouri where he studied in the field of Criminal Justice. He later joined the Missouri Sheriff’s Training Academy where he graduated in the summer of 2001 with a Missouri Class B Peace Officer Certification. During his seven years as a full time police officer, Joe was involved in teaching DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) as well as working with school resource officers and public relations within local school districts. Joe found that his efforts and training would be better spent preventing people from making poor choices early in life rather than enforcing consequences which are too often, too late. Throughout the years at CALO, Joe has held many positions and is currently Campus Coordinator. In 2008 he met his wife Amanda at CALO and the two were married in 2010. When Joe isn’t working at CALO, he enjoys motorcycling, shooting, carpentry, and civil service projects.
Robin G.
Human Resources Administrative Assistant
Robin was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. Growning up she dedicated her life to the performing arts, spending many years in music and dance. She attended Sunnydale Academy, a private school in Centralia, Mo. After high school, she worked in a variety of clerical positions, but her primary focus has always been her family. She and her family moved to Missouri a few years ago. Robin has always had a desire to work with children. Now, she enjoys working as a youth cheerleading coach and a residential coach at CALO.

 

Russell S.
Overnight Care Supervisor
Russell recently moved to the area. He is originally from Des Moines, IA, where he spent 2 years working with youth as a staff member at Boy Scout Camp Mitigwa. While there, he facilitated high adventure/low adventure ropes course, and assisted in the aquatics program. Russell has always been very involved in athletics, and is currently enrolled in Moberly Community College. He is working toward a degree in education with a focus on health/physical education. Russell found great team building and learning opportunities while participating in physical education activities and athletics. He hopes he can provide adolescents with the same skills and opportunities he experienced. Russell is a very hard working, family oriented individual. He is very dedicated to assisting in the treatment and developing relationships with the students at CALO. His patience, compassion and understanding help him to accept, walk with, and guide the students along a path to healthy, successful lives.
Kurt S.
Overnight Care
Kurt was born St. Louis, MO. He worked for 12 years at FASCO and decided it was time for a change. He joined the CALO team in 2009. Kurt lives in Rocky Mount with his wife Rachel and two sons Jonathan and Hayden.
Bill S.
Overnight Care
Bill was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed a 1200 hour HAVC course in 1981 and was employed by residential and commercial real estate management companies until 1992 when he and his family moved to the Lake Ozark region. He has been employed by CALO since 6-2010. He has been married for 46 years and has two sons, Kurt and Mark and one beautiful granddaughter, Nichole. His hobbies include caring for 4 horses, 2 dogs and 1 cat.
Daniel P.
Overnight Care
Daniel graduated from Belton high school in 2009. After graduation he was a Belton Fire Explorer for three years. In 2011, Daniel moved to the Lake area and soon after came to work at CALO.
Bill S.
Overnight Care
Bill moved to the lake area from Nebraska in 1982,was married in 1987 and has three grown children. He worked in construction and heating and cooling trades for 29 years. Bill enjoyed coaching youth sports for many years while the kids were growing up. He loves spending time with his family and fishing. He decided to come to work at CALO to work around kids again.
Angela R.
Overnight Care
Angie was born June 26, 1984 in Ohio. Angie attended Buckeye Valley High school. After graduating in 2003 she went to the Ohio Fire Academy where she got her Firefighter l&ll and EMT certifications. Angie got hired on the City of London Fire Dept where she worked for seven years, Elm Valley Joint Fire Dept where she worked for five years, and Morrow County EMS where she worked for five years. Angie moved to Missouri in Sept 2010. She started working at Calo Nov 2011 where she works with the Overnight Care team.
Robin M.
Overnight Care
Robin was born Nov. 4th in Omaha and moved to Ohio in 1998 where she was worked at Honda Of America for 11 years . Robin moved to Missouri in 2010 to be closer to her mother and family. She loves the lake and the people here. Robin looks forward to many years here at the lake and working at CALO.

David O.
Facilities Manager
After Graduating from Oelwein High School, Dave went on to pursue a music teaching degree at the University of Northern Iowa. He later changed and graduated with a B.A. in construction management. Since 1985 Dave has been working in residential construction here at the Lake of the Ozarks. He started as a laborer for a general contractor and soon became job supervisor. For the past 12 years Dave and his wife, Paula, have owned and operated their own business in residential speculation and contracting. Some of Dave’s interests include the piano, tinkering, fixing things, working with livestock, enjoying nature, spending time with his wife and four kids, and serving others. Being part of the C.A.L.O. maintenance team gives Dave a great way to serve some of today’s youth in providing a functioning and safe environment.
Greg V.
Facilities Assistant
Greg graduated from Dixon High School, Class of 1991. He then attended Wayneville Vo-Tech and received a degree in Auto Body Repair. Following his automotive skills, he went to work for DaBryan Coach Builder. Greg has also worked in construction and with heavy equipment as well. He attends the First Church faithfully and his loves include his family and helping others. He enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and going on vacations.
