Celebrating Mothers

On this Mothers day I would just like to pause and focus on the wonderful mothers out there. The mothers of Calo students, in particular, need some extra attention and acknowledgment. Adoptive mothers are often the target of hatred and bitterness stemming from underlying feelings the child has towards his/her biological mother. This is not always the case but many Calo parents would agree this is true with their situation. Despite the endless love and sacrifices the great Calo moms make, they are often never appreciated. Please know that today, we are thinking of you and are grateful for all you are doing to help your student. Here are some quotes for your enjoyment:

An ounce of mother is worth a pound of clergy. ~Spanish Proverb

The phrase Working mother is redundant. ~Jane Sellman

A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother.  ~Author Unknown

If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands? ~Milton Berle

Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.  ~Oprah Winfrey

One good mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters.  ~George Herbert

It is not easy being a mother.  If it were, fathers would do it. ~Author Unknown

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
