Shannon joined the Girls’ Teen Clinical Team as a therapist at Calo in January of 2018. Shannon has a double bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Gerontology from Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri and achieved a master’s degree from Evangel University Springfield, Missouri. Shannon has experience in working with orphan children and adolescent youth in Kenya, Africa, men and women in the Judicial system and has many hours of volunteered time as a Celebrate Recovery facilitator. Shannon is trained in Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Heart Rate Variability and is knowledgeable and qualified in treating developmental trauma and attachment related disorders. “Working with individuals in the Judicial system afforded me the drive and passion to help traumatized youth from following the path of dysregulatory behavior and broken relationships. Helping families find their lost joy is altogether worthwhile and satisfying.”
